Wilderness King's Pool
Standard Twin/Double Tents
In the heart of the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, the look and feel of Wilderness King’s Pool ensures guests are able to experience a life-changing journey whilst giving back to the biodiversity conservation of the Linyanti at the same time. Celebrating the romance of the camp’s history, it retains the traits of a traditional safari camp – however, a renewed authentic, yet modern, Botswana flair has been added as outlined by Lead Designer, Caline Williams-Wynn from Artichoke.
Special care has been taken to balance privacy, safety and comfort whilst still inviting the outside in, to create a signature immersive Wilderness experience. In keeping with our commitment to driving sustainable ecotourism and operating with a light eco-footprint, the refurbished camp in 2019 reused or retained much of the existing material from the previous camp – the superstructure, thatch roof, carved front doors and salvaged timber doors.
The ancient Batswana craft of weaving is expressed in a number of architectural details and this theme has been carried throughout the interiors with abstract embroidery images, and hand painted basket murals. Earthy, rough textures are punctuated by warm copper – in handles and other details – adding richness and depth to the architectural mood. Accents of teal are used throughout to enhance the neutral bronze and copper colour palette.
One suite consisting of two separate rooms (sleeping four in total) each with own en-suite facilities, sharing a private plunge pool and outdoor sunken lounge. Bookable by families, or ideal for parties of four adults travelling together, or a couple preferring more spare and luxury – while one bedroom is slightly smaller and without and outdoor shower, it is a standard guest tent and not only for children.
