Skybeds
For those who have ever dreamed of sleeping beneath the African sky, Skybeds offers one of the most unforgettable ways to spend a night in the bush. Set deep within the Khwai Private Reserve in the Okavango Delta, this is no ordinary safari stay – it’s a sleep-out experience that places you right in the heart of the wild.
Each of the three Skybeds is a three-storey raised platform overlooking a busy waterhole, where wildlife frequently gathers to drink. On the lower level you’ll find a private bathroom with a flushing loo and shower, with a dressing area above. At the very top sits the main event: a spacious double bed, wrapped in crisp white linens and protected by mosquito netting, open to the night sky.
From the comfort of your bed, you may watch elephant, lion, hyena, wild dog and other species visiting the waterhole below. And while the stargazing above is spectacular, the theatre unfolding on the plains beneath often steals the show.
Simple, stylish and wonderfully wild, Skybeds strips safari back to something beautifully elemental – the sounds of the bush, the glow of the fire, and a million stars overhead.
Please note: Skybeds can only be booked in combination with a stay at Elephant Pan, Tuludi, Sable Alley or Little Sable within the Khwai Private Reserve.
Children 16 years & older are welcome. Ages 12-15 years are allowed if exclusive use is booked.
