Additional Excursions
(EXTRA)
Additional excursions are available with extra charge:
- Birdlife: After a 1 hour boat ride towards the Madre de Dios River, visit the Cachuela clay lick. Enjoy birding while having breakfast on board. Bird diversity and clay-lick activity are explained by Inkaterra Explorer Guides. Return to lodge by boat.
- Lake Valencia: This one-day experience in the jungle begins with a two-hour boat ride downriver to the scintillating Valencia oxbow lake. Navigation on the lake and interpretation of the surrounding ecosystem. If it is not the breeding season fishing ban*, try fishing for piranhas, catfish, among other species. Arrive at Inkaterra’s land on the lake to enjoy lunch. Afterwards, take a 1-hour walk in the primary forest and chestnut trails. Environmental interpretation and explanation of the local economic activity. Approximately 10 hours.
*Breeding season fishing ban: Between December 20 and February 20 during the reproductive ban at Lake Valencia, travelers will not be allowed to fish during their visit.
