Operating since 1991, Namib Sky Balloon Safaris offers one of Namibia’s most iconic desert experiences — an unforgettable morning above the extraordinary landscapes of the Namib.

As the first light of dawn touches the desert, the journey begins in the quiet heart of the Namib. The balloon lifts gently from the earth into the cool morning air, carried by the wind as the landscape comes alive beneath you.

For approximately one hour, ancient mountains, towering red dunes and seemingly endless plains unfold below, transformed by the shifting colours and dramatic light of sunrise. With exclusive concessions within the Namib-Naukluft National Park and the NamibRand Nature Reserve, our flights offer access to some of the most pristine and protected landscapes in the world’s oldest desert.

Upon landing, guests are welcomed to our Namib Sky Signature Desert Breakfast, served in elegant safari style in a spectacular desert setting. This is a time to relax, savour the surroundings and share the excitement of the flight.

After breakfast, the experience continues with a leisurely 4x4 drive back to the meeting point. This unhurried return journey offers a different perspective on the desert, bringing guests closer to the landscapes they have just admired from the air and allowing time to absorb the beauty of the Namib before the morning’s adventure draws to a close.

Each passenger receives a flight certificate signed by the pilots — a personal keepsake of this memorable desert experience.

When planning onward activities or transfers, please allow time for the full morning experience, including breakfast and the return drive. If your guests have an early flight out, please inform us accordingly and we will do our best to accomodate.
