Intimate Camp Zebra

'Intimate Camp Zebra’ is named after the Zebra which follow the Wildebeest during their world-famous annual migration. Like the animal it is named after, the camp follows the Wildebeest to the Northern part of the Serengeti National Park between July and November and to the Southern part of the Serengeti eco-system from December until March. The camp is closed from April until the end of June each year.

‘Intimate Camp Zebra’ has been operating in the Serengeti for the best part of two decades. As a result, the company has fostered very close working relationships with the parks authorities and this in turn has resulted in the camp always being allocated the very best seasonal campsites available, both in Kogatende as well as in Ndutu.

The camp consists of 10 accommodation tents to include two 2-bedroomed family units, each of which can be used for single, double or triple occupancy. Each sleeping tent consists of a bedroom area, dressing area and ensuite shower and toilet.  As an added convenience, each tent is provided with electricity for lighting as well as for charging mobile telephones, cameras, tablets, laptop computers or any other electronic devices our guests may carry with them. This electricity is harvested from the sun’s rays via a solar system.

The lounge and dining tents, which are new for the 2023 season, are comfortably laid out for rest and relaxation when guests are taking a break from exciting game drives. Coffee table books, board games, a writing bureau and wireless internet connectivity are all provided to ensure that their every need is catered for. Evenings are spent around the all-important campfire exchanging stories about the day’s events and making plans for the days ahead.

‘Intimate Camp Zebra’ has a well-stocked bar which serves a selection of wines, spirits, beers and minerals, the cost of which is included in the accommodation rates. Friendly camp staff are also delighted to assist guests with their laundry requirements, also without extra charge.

The main emphasis of the activities available at the camp is the viewing of the extraordinary Wildebeest migration which is one of the "Seven Natural Wonders of Africa" as well as the single largest mass movement of animals on the planet. That said, there are many other forms of wildlife and birdlife which can be viewed during the course of game drives in most parts of the Serengeti National Park and these are further enhanced by some of the most spectacular nature to be seen anywhere on the African continent. Depending upon the location of the camp at any given moment, guests are also able to participate in Balloon Safaris although arrangements for this need normally to be made prior to their arrival in Tanzania.

With almost two decades experience operating camps in the different national parks making up the Northern Safari circuit of Tanzania, Intimate places has developed very strict policies and procedures with regards to the protection of the fragile environments in which we operate. All of these can also be found in practice at Intimate Camp Zebra.
