Nkasa Lupala tented lodge is situated in the Wuparo community conservancy 130km west of Katima Mulilo in the Caprivi Region of northern Namibia. The lodge is less than 500m from the Nkasa Lupala National Park (previously known as Mamili NP) border. As the park is un-fenced, large mammals and other animals are able to roam freely in the vicinity of the lodge.
Accommodation comprises of 8 tented double rooms, 1 honeymoon chalet and 1 family tent (with a double bed and 2 single beds). Each room is on stilts and has an en-suite bathroom (shower only) and deck overlooking the water channel.
The eco-friendly lodge’s main area is linked to the rooms by a network of pathways. The main area has a bar, dining area and viewing deck.
Activities offered by the lodge include game drives (in the Nkasa Lupala or Mudumu National Parks and Wuparo Conservancy), boat cruises, mokoro trips, walking safaris, Mayeyi cultural festival and traditional village tours. Sightings during game drives include elephants, buffalo, hippo, lions, leopard, impala, kudu, zebra wildebeest, roan and sable. Boat cruises are conducted in the channels of the Kwando-Linyanti Delta, offering the opportunity to spot water-adapted antelopes such as waterbuck, reedbuck, sitatunga and lechwe. All activities are at an additional cost.
