Roving Bushtops
ROVING NORTH
Between June and October Roving Bushtops is based in the northern Serengeti, a 15-minute drive from the Mara River. This is the ideal place from which to watch the migration arrive, cross the Mara and Sand rivers into Kenya’s Masai Mara, then see the herds again as they return to Tanzania. Being only 15 kilometres from Serengeti Bushtops (our fixed sister camp), guests have the option of splitting their stay between two very different locations and experiences.
ROVING SOUTH
From December to March Roving Bushtops is based in the Southern Serengeti. This is the time when the migration is in the south and the birthing season takes place where from around end of January approximately 8000 calves are born every single day during a 3 weeks period.
Guests stay in eight superbly-specified luxury tents, featuring kig-size beds and 24 hour butler service. During the day the tent walls can be opened on three sides, enabling panoramic views of the surrounding bush. Our service includes all drinks, complimentary massages, private game drive vehicles, wifi and 24 hour power.
As each day draws to a close, you and your fellow guests can re-gather at Roving Bushtops elegant dining tent. Here you select from a sophisticated menu in a haven of contemporary luxury, set against arguably the worlds greatest safari backdrop. Alternatively you can dine in the privacy of your tent-suite.
Daily game drives are led by expert rangers, supported by keen-eyed local spotters. We have always sourced and converted some of the best game-viewing vehicles in East Africa, so each days roving takes place in superbly equipped, ultra-reliable open 4x4 Land Cruisers.
