Chuchungi House is a private three-bedroom beach house on Kizingoni Beach, Lamu, offering a relaxed and exclusive base for families and groups looking to experience the coast at their own pace. With direct access to the beach, a private swimming pool and panoramic views across both the Indian Ocean and Lamu Creek, the house combines the character of Lamu with the comforts of a private home.

Spread across four floors, the house has been designed to make the most of its surroundings, with spaces for dining, relaxing and enjoying the views throughout the day. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, while the second double and twin room share a bathroom. The house also has a fully equipped kitchen, generous indoor and outdoor living spaces, and a dedicated space that can be arranged for massages and facials.

Food is an important part of the experience. Our chef draws on the Swahili coast's rich culinary traditions, preparing fresh local seafood, coconut-based curries, handmade chapatis and fruit from Lamu. Meals are shaped around what is fresh each day and can be adapted to dietary requirements and individual preferences.

A small dedicated team takes care of housekeeping, security and the day-to-day running of the house, allowing guests to settle into the relaxed rhythm of Lamu.

There is plenty to explore beyond the house. Lamu Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a short boat ride away, while traditional dhow trips can take guests sailing, fishing, exploring the creek and mangroves or watching the sunset. For days on the water, guests can make use of the house's speedboat, waterskis, wakeboard, donut, stand-up paddleboards, kayaks and snorkelling equipment.
