MCH Luxury Tented Camp is Garonga’s most exclusive safari retreat, accommodating a maximum of eight guests across just four spacious luxury tents in The Greater Makalali Private Nature Reserve. Designed in the spirit of a bygone safari era, the camp combines timeless elegance and understated luxury with the privacy of a small, standalone camp. Each air-conditioned tent features a private sitting area, indoor bar and separate tea station, as well as a generous en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers and an outdoor bathtub.

The camp’s shared spaces have been designed for relaxed days between safari activities, with a swimming pool overlooking the bush, an exclusive canvas dining mess, outdoor boma and fire pit, Massage Sala and a library/business centre. A dedicated team, including a chef, butler and field guide, provides a highly personalised experience, while MCH has its own safari vehicles and experienced guides.

Days can be shaped around each guest’s preferences and the rhythm of the bush. Twice-daily game drives offer the opportunity to encounter the Big 5 and the reserve’s diverse wildlife, while guided bush walks provide a different perspective on the surrounding wilderness. Guests can also spend a complimentary night beneath the stars on MCH’s private Sleep Out Deck, located approximately 20 minutes from camp and complete with a four-poster bed, dining area and en-suite ablutions.
