Monteverde Curi-Cancha Reserve Guided Walk by Faro Travel
Enjoy a guided tour of the beautiful Curi-Cancha Reserve. Led by a naturalist guide, we'll explore the reserve's trails and look for birds, mammals, insects, and more.
This reserve protects 83 hectares (205 acres) of 50% virgin forest, 45% secondary growth and 5% open grassland. The altitude ranges from 1450 meters to 1615 meters with 40% very humid low montane forest and 60% very humid premontane forest. Seven kilometers of nature trails allow visitors to explore the flora and fauna of the tropical cloud forest.
This reserve is a paradise for bird watchers. The resplendent quetzal, three-wattled bellbird, blue-crowned motmot, orange-bellied trogon and many others are frequently seen. In fact, more than 200 species of birds have been observed making their home in this piece of heaven. Frequently seen mammals include armadillo, coati, agouti, kinkajou, ocelot, two-toed sloth, and three species of monkeys: mantled howler, white-faced capuchin, and spider monkey.
Your guide will be ready with a telescope, binoculars, and informative guides. Remember to bring your camera and your questions.
