The Peech Hotel

Situated in the prime residential neighbourhood of Melrose, The Peech is renowned for offering discreet personal service and well-appointed guest rooms overlooking lush indigenous gardens. The Peech is a haven of tranquillity in striking contrast to Joburg’s unique identity as a large and bustling African city.

Run by The Peech Family, whose passion for local design has inspired an ‘Afri-chic’ interior style.  Featuring local designers, artists and craftsmanship throughout, every room and public space has been thoughtfully planned to ensure contemporary design offers functional luxury. Situated amid 2 acres of lush and largely indigenous gardens offering 2 swimming pools and outside lounging areas, where guests are encouraged to relax and enjoy Joburg’s largely hospitable climate and abundant birdlife.

We offer 2 great restaurants onsite, our ‘Garden Restaurant’ overlooking our hotel gardens, serves fresh, light, seasonally inspired meals throughout the day, with indoor and outside seating.  Our public restaurant ‘The Pot Luck Club Johannesburg’ offers diners a selection of globally inspired small plates, ideal for sharing. The Pot Luck Club offers guests an energetic, fun dining atmosphere, with a formidable wine and cocktail list to keep diners well entertained. Head chef Ebie du Toit takes care of day-to-day operations, working under internationally acclaimed Luke Dale Roberts.

The location feels both private and absolutely central being located near the city's main shopping and business hubs and adjacent to the boutiques, cafés and park of Melrose.

The hotel champions responsible tourism by blending awareness for the environment and the community and is also Fair Trade Tourism certified. It has been described as “Contemporary, edgy and Afrocentric” by Condé Nast Traveller.
