Camping Frances - Reserva Las Torres
Francés Camping
If you’re looking for a true outdoor adventure, there’s nothing better than camping, sleeping under the starts, and connecting with nature.
When you’re hiking up the Francés Valley, don’t forget to stop for a minute and take a look behind you! As you climb higher, it’s awesome to see the famous “foehn” winds zipping around Lake Nordenskjöld like little tornadoes. These occur due to a unique microclimate, in which dry air drifts over the mountaintops and then sweeps down its slope, gaining speed as it gets warmer and approaches the lake. It is quite a sight to behold!
After your hike up to the Francés Valley and Británico lookouts, warm up and recharge your mind and body by sharing memories with other hikers over a hot dinner at the restaurant.
The breathtaking 360-degree view from the hostel will be etched into your memory forever. You will be inspired by the surrounding landscapes of Lake Nordenskjöld, Cerro Paine Grande, Cerro Ferrier, Mt. Tenerife, and the Chacabuco and Balmaceda ranges.
You will likely see the famous Foehn winds whirling like little tornadoes of water around the lake, and perhaps hear the sound of avalanches coming from the Francés Glacier.
This sector has shared camping areas, bathrooms with showers and hot water.
