Songa, Auberge Safari

Sprawled across a hillside in the Serengeti’s Kogatende region, Songa gazes out over a landscape that shifts from gentle undulation into the endless expanse of the national park’s iconic savannahs. A camp that captures the spirit of adventure in canvas and vintage character, Songa is where the Great Migration's crossing season is experienced at its most raw. The wild doesn't whisper here — it surges as hooves thunder across the plains and charge through fast-flowing waters.

During the day, the canvas lounges are open to the breeze, inviting moments of relaxation between drives. After dark, the campfire and lantern-lit dinner table set the scene for stories of the day’s sightings while the Serengeti settles into night.

Accommodation
Ten tented rooms face east across the savannah, opening onto the sunrise. Custom antique-inspired furnishings lend the interiors a vintage feel, while king beds fitted with bespoke linen prioritize comfort. Rooms come in king or twin configurations. Each has a dressing room with a double vanity and an en suite bathroom with a flushing toilet and a fully plumbed indoor shower.

Experiences
At Songa, days build toward the drama of the Great Migration's Mara River crossings, while evenings bring a sense of stillness to the Serengeti plains.

Experiences here highlight the contrast: action-packed game drives with your private guide and vehicle, picnic lunches in the wild, and relaxed sundowners as the light turns golden. Hot air balloon safaris can be arranged in advance at an additional cost.
