Koro Island Camp

Koro Island Camp is ideal for explorer orientated travellers, and consists of 4 en-suite Meru tents and a tented lounge facility. Located on an island in the Limpopo River and accessible only via a suspension bridge, the camp is a perfect base for small private groups of safari enthusiasts. Self or fully catered options are available.

Koro Island is a stunning simple affair, and the charming setting on remote tiny Limpopo island defines our intention. A suspension bridge welcomes safari travellers into camp with sweeping views of the river. Our seasoned safari luxuries include a thatched lounge and dining area, a viewing and lounging deck overlooking the main channel of the Limpopo, and of course, the crucial open air campfire for dinner and storytelling!

The unpretentious style and layout of the camp offers a perfect invitation for small parties (max 8) of safari travellers with special interests to enjoy some down time or explore our land of giants with us. Also perfect for privately guided parties.

A visit to the Spa sala at River Camp for some pampering can be arranged. Island Camp is off the grid completely and runs on gas and paraffin … rolling back the years to vintage Botswana!

Four en-suite Meru tents are dotted around the tiny island, each one with private views of the Limpopo. Furnished with comfortable beds, tables and clothes hangers, the tents are spacious and inviting. Each unit consists of a traditional open air bathroom out back, complete with bathtubs … simple elegance!
