Child Policy: Thabamati welcomes children of 10 years and older.  They may participate in all game drives, but not bushwalks.  There is one luxury tent that can be converted to accommodate 3 persons - please double- check with reservations if this is available at the time of booking.  Children of all ages are welcome when the whole camp is booked as a villa option - please enquire with reservations for a special rate.

 Safari Activities: Thabamati uses 1 (one) open, spacious safari vehicle for game drives. It seats all guests comfortably.  All safaris are conducted by a professional guide.  Bushwalks of about one hour are scheduled daily after breakfast (weather permitting), and guests between the ages of 16 and 60 are allowed on the these walks. Guests older than 60 years of age must present a medical certificate confirming that he/she is physically capable of participating in such bushwalks.  All participants in safari walks must understand English fully. Should visitors fail to comply with these conditions, Thabamati reserves the right to refuse guests participation in bushwalks.

Payment Policy: Full payment is required 30 days prior to arrival for FIT and 60 days prior to arrival for GROUPS. Payment can be made via bank transfer or by credit card. Credit-card payments will result in an additional 4% fee.

Cancellation Policy: 30% deposit upon confirmation of booking. Balance due 30 days prior to travel.

Cancelled more than 31 days prior to arrival: loss of deposit.

Cancelled between 30 and 20 days prior to arrival: loss of 60%.

Cancelled 19 days or less prior to arrival: loss of full fare.

Drinks: Thabamati’s tariff includes sundowner drinks. This applies to local beers, local soft drinks, local spirits and house wines.  Bottled water is also included.  All other drinks are excluded, and payment for these must be made in camp by credit card or in cash (a small card fee will be added).

Timbavati Reserve Fees

Timbavati Conservation Fee: The conservation levy is used entirely for the funding of the operational activities of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve.  This includes 10% for community development projects through the Timbavati Foundation. The fee amounts to R 400.00 per person per night for 2020.

Timbavati vehicle entry fee: R 190.00 per vehicle once-off, to be settled in cash or card at the reserve gate for 2020. When booking a transfer, this fee will be included automatically.

Check-in: Between 12:00 and 14:00; enjoy lunch and high tea before embarking on your afternoon game drive.

Check out: At 11:00, after your morning game drive and breakfast.
