Blue Pass La Fortuna Waterfall Hike & Farm Lunch
La Fortuna Waterfall Reserve is a place where over 4 000 ml precipitation a year give you the chance to enjoy this majestic 210 feet high fall. A five hundred meters downhill hike will give you the chance to see it from the very bottom where a “natural pool” awaits if you want to swim in the fresh water of La Fortuna River.
From La Fortuna town a 2 miles route will takes us to the presence of a natural resource of great scenic beauty due to the hydrographic characteristics, soil formation and terrain shaped, added to a tropical rainy climate that allows the existence of an extremely diverse flora and fauna. La Fortuna Waterfall is located at the base of the now dormant Chato Volcano and near the Arenal Volcano. It is fed by the river of the same name which travels through the rainforest until it plunges over the cliff forming this magnificent waterfall.
Once we pass the formalities, we are ready to take the trail to the waterfall base and its crystal-clear waters. Along the trail, carved into the hillside, you will observe plants, trees, and animals, which inhabit the area. You can choose to swim in its refreshing waters, take amazing photographs, or simply relax and take in all the beauty of the La Fortuna Waterfall.
When you visit this park, you are not only getting the chance to enjoy this marvelous natural wonder, but you will also be helping to support the Development Association of the community; 100% of the entrance fee income goes for social projects and benefit schools, nutritional centers, the orphanage, our roads and much more.
Later, at Vida Campesina Farm you will enjoy the Costa Rican typical wood stove cuisine, lunch is prepared with products mainly from the farm, and for the end, a special gift: home produce and infuse coffee totally fresh and prepare specially for you in our traditional Costa Rican style.
