Destination: Wilderness Little Duma Tau is the picture-perfect sister camp to Wilderness DumaTau, set on the same scenic lagoon frontage.  Its position allows for easy access to the Linyanti Swamps, Savuti Channel and Linyanti woodlands, where exclusive wildlife encounters and adventures on the reserve’s pristine 126,000 hectares (311,353 acres) of unfenced wilderness await all who visit.

Surrounded by wildlife corridors, the camp overlooks the beautiful Osprey Lagoon, where centuries-old submerged elephant trails were created by parades of elephants, still regularly seen from every vantage point in camp.

Experience: Set in one of Earth’s ultimate untamed places, this charming camp is the ideal setting for unforgettable wildlife encounters. Game viewing on water and on land in the Linyanti is exceptional. Guests will encounter buffalo and huge numbers of elephant all along the channels.  Exhilarating mornings are spent tracking predators on the prowl or learning more about the wildlife on a guided nature walk with our knowledgeable guides. Back in camp, guests can enjoy wildlife spotting, a refreshing dip in their private plunge pool, or indulging in a relaxing massage at the Osprey Retreat (with spa, gym and lap pool), which is shared with Wilderness DumaTau.

Purpose: In order to ensure the safe passage of these megaherds and other wildlife, we work to continue the protection of this vital piece of land within the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area. The biodiverse Linyanti is home to countless species, many of which are threatened with population reduction, or worse, extinction. These include elephant, wild dogs, lion, pangolin, and a great many others. The area continues to provide a safe home for wildlife, and is ideally placed to act as dispersal epicentre for their emigration within the larger conservation area.

Wildlife: With access to the fertile Kwando/Chobe ecosystem and Savuti Channel the area is home to the greatest habitat diversity in northern Botswana. Expect to see marshes and waterways, riverine woodland, Kalahari appleleaf and cathedral-like mopane woodlands, as well as grasslands. This lush and fertile conservation area attracts an extraordinary diversity of wildlife and makes for epic game viewing. Great herds of elephants congregate along the waterways and lagoons during the dry winter months. Red lechwe, Burchell’s zebras, giraffes and warthogs are followed by lions, leopards, African wild dogs, spotted hyenas and occasional cheetahs. Also seen in the Savuti Channel are enormous concentrations of hippos and crocodiles.

Wilderness Little DumaTau: Stylish and elegant, with a sense of off-the-beaten-track exploration, the architecture and interiors of the camp reflect the heart of the Linyanti, one of Botswana’s most treasured wildlife havens. This intimate camp offers an unparalleled Linyanti safari experience with just four ultra-spacious guest suites.

The main dining and lounge areas offer wonderful views over the lagoon, where guests can observe elephants coming in to drink or splashing about in the water. Connected to sister camp DumaTau by elevated walkways, the camps share access to the tranquil Osprey Retreat for wellness and rejuvenation in the spa, gym and lap pool.

Built with an extremely light eco-footprint, the camp is 100% solar-powered.
