Kisima Ngeda Camp
Ombako Fly Camp and Hadza Cultural Interaction
Journey from Kisima Ngeda Camp into the hills of Lake Eyasi’s eastern shore for an overnight camp with Hadza hosts. Entara guests participate in a hands-on cultural interaction, in which a community welcomes us to learn about its way of life. The participants are individuals, and the experience is about meeting them, getting to know them, and learning from them.

Birding and wildlife at Kisima Ngeda Camp
Kisima Ngeda Camp offers a wonderfully different perspective on Tanzania’s wildlife, set beside the seasonal waters of Lake Eyasi and surrounded by fever tree woodland, rocky hills and the dramatic Alipi Escarpment. This remote corner of the Rift Valley is particularly rewarding for birders, with the lake, wetlands and surrounding forests attracting an impressive diversity of resident and migratory species throughout the year.
The lakeshore comes alive with waterbirds, including flamingos, pelicans, storks, waders and White-winged Black Terns, while the surrounding woodland provides habitat for a wealth of smaller forest and savannah species. From October to April, Palearctic migrants add another dimension to the birding, with thousands of birds passing through the region as they follow seasonal routes between Europe, Asia and Africa.
Wildlife encounters extend beyond the birdlife. The lake and surrounding wilderness support a variety of animals moving through the landscape, while guided walks offer the opportunity to discover the smaller details of this fascinating ecosystem.
A lakeshore birding experience, forest walks and hikes can all be arranged, making Kisima Ngeda an ideal base for curious travellers who enjoy exploring Tanzania beyond the traditional safari circuit.
