Crater’s Edge Lodge is set on the north-eastern rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, nestled into indigenous forest within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Its location near the quieter Lemala access route is a real advantage, allowing early descents onto the crater floor before most vehicles arrive. Access is typically via a light aircraft flight to Lake Manyara followed by a scenic 4×4 drive, or by road from Arusha or Karatu as part of a northern Tanzania safari circuit.

The lodge is a stylish, contemporary tented camp with an intimate, welcoming feel rather than a large resort atmosphere. The main lounge, bar and dining areas are open and cosy, centred around fireplaces and designed to make the most of the dramatic crater views.
