Bijagua Rainforest Tours / Birdwatching Tour
The Tenorio Volcano is located at the Guanacaste Mountain Range, is a low elevation mountain system in the Northwester of Costa Rica.
Pronounce low passes allow air currents with moist air to funnel easily from the Caribbean slope into the Pacific side causing interesting climatic conditions that structure the fantastic lush green Rainforest on the North and Northeast face of the Tenorio massif. Birding around the Tenorio and Bijagua area is a great opportunity because it is a mix between the open cattle pastures to parches of Rainforest and plantation;
Its a good combination for many different kind of bird, the road from the Village of Bijagua heading into the National Park offer very good birding, providing good access to mix species flocks, potential looks of Toucans (Yellow-eared Toucanet), honeycreeper, great variety of tanager, Lovely Cotinga, Ornate Hawk Eagle, White Hawk, Black Hawk-Eagle, White fronted Nunbird, Motmots (Tody Motmot), King Vulture, Snowcap and Black crested Coquette. etc.
We start with a nice hike around the hotel looking for birds of the rainforest; later we take the breakfast and after it we will go on the road coming to the Village Bijagua to finish in a nice Private Reserve with 1km trail.
