Mokolwane

A small camp in the heart of serious leopard country, Mokolwane Camp sits tucked amongst a scattering of Mokolwane palms in the vast Xudum Concession. This remote corner of the Okavango Delta supports one of the highest recorded densities of leopard anywhere in Africa, making it an exceptional destination for predator sightings.

The landscape here is defined by open floodplains dotted with palm islands and seasonal channels that attract large herds of elephant and buffalo, along with lion, wild dog and other Okavango predators. With over 180,000 hectares of private wilderness and no other camps nearby, the area offers both outstanding wildlife viewing and a remarkable sense of space and solitude.

Mokolwane itself is a small and relaxed camp with just seven canvas tents, designed to blend simply and comfortably into the surrounding environment. Days are spent exploring this wild and wildlife-rich region on game drives or seasonal mokoro and boating excursions, while evenings are for enjoying the stillness of the Delta under vast African skies. Accessible only by helicopter, arriving at Mokolwane is part of the adventure.
