Palmwag Lodge
Palmwag Lodge offers the independent traveller an exceptional Damaraland and desert experience. Located between the Skeleton Coast and Etosha, the lodge is an excellent stop between north and south Namibia.
Your right on the Uniab River and your sundowner view is out onto the Palmwag Concession and a skyline of makalani palms. This area is well known for desert-adapted elephants, black rhino and lions. Wide open, endless landscapes and rugged rocky terrains makes spotting them out here a real wonder.
Accommodation comes in the form of thatched bungalows, tented rooms or self-contained camping. The tents and bungalows have en suite bathrooms and a choice of two-bed, three-bed or family units.
The centre-piece is the fabulous pool, bar and restaurant area. It opens daily from mid-morning for the campers who can't be bothered to cook and anyone intent on spending the whole day relaxing by the pool - a perfectly acceptable choice given the beautiful setting.
Bought over by the Gondwana Collection, Palmwag Lodge is under new ownership as of May 2019. They've already done a lot since then and there's still loads to come.
