The prize is subject to availability at the safari camps.  The scheduled charter flights are also subject to having other passengers on board.  If there are no other passengers, there will be a supplement charged.

  

Discover Africa Terms and Conditions

The following items pertain to all bookings made through Discover Africa, Inc.
    Reservations and payments:  In order to confirm your reservations, we require a 30% non refundable deposit based upon the approved land quote.   Final payment is due 45-60 days prior to departure (depending on the destination), this will also be non refundable.   Any changes made after final payment has been received will result in a $100.00 fee per change.
All quotes made in currencies other than USD are converted to USD based on the rate of exchange on the date of payment.
We accept payment by check, EFT, credit cards (Visa & Mastercard).  Payments from clients based outside the United States are required to pay by wire transfer only.  Acceptance of any form of payment is discretionary.
    Travel Insurance:   Comprehensive Travel Insurance is highly recommended – ask your booking agent for details (we work with Travel Guard).   It is your responsibility to read completely the certificate of insurance on your behalf. Travel Guard Insurance agents are available to answer your questions at 800-826-1300.  Insurance policies differ and cover different types of losses.  Insurance may not cover a loss completely.
    Medical Evacuation Insurance:   Is mandatory for clients traveling to Africa, please make sure you are adequately covered prior to your departure – ask your booking agent for details.
    Cancellations:  Cancellations for all or any part of your Trip/Tour will not be effective until received in writing.  Should you cancel, the cancellation penalties will apply as per the policy outlined above.
    Included/not included:  Unless otherwise specifically noted, our prices do include conservation levies, entrance fees, game viewing reserve entrance fees and taxes.  Our price does not include  - gratuities; porterage; passport and visa fees ; optional sightseeing excursions;  baggage charges on aircraft; local departure air/airport tax(es); airfare and associated local taxes, airport facility and security taxes and federal inspection fees not listed as included in the tour; meals, alcoholic or other beverages and all other services not specifically mentioned as included in your Trip/Tour.
    Airfare:  Airfare is subject to change and can only be guaranteed once ticketed.  Depending on the fare purchased, there will likely be change fees and/or may be non refundable.  Your airline ticket constitutes a contract between you and the airline, even if purchased through Discover Africa.  Your agent will advise you at the time of ticketing, the refund policy and/or change fees.
    Baggage:  In some instances, the total baggage allowance (soft sided bags required) for each passenger, inclusive of hand luggage and cameras is 5kg/33 pounds.  Excess baggage will only be carried, at the sole discretion of the captain of the aircraft, if the payload of the aircraft and/or space permits and will be charged at the prevailing rate for carriage of freight.  If passengers anticipate they will have excess baggage, it is recommended that they book a “freight” seat at a child fare, which permits confirmed carriage of an extra 50kgs/110 pounds.     Weather dependent activities:  Weather conditions may affect certain activities that have been included in your Trip/Tour.  Refunds are at the discretion of the operator of the activity, and will only be considered if the activity is cancelled by the operator and not the client.  Where possible, the operator will try to accommodate the client on an alternative date or time, rather than cancel the activity.
    Price increases:  Rates are subject to change without prior notice should there be any unforeseen increases in tourism levies, bed levies, fuel prices, sales tax and VAT, entrance fees, conservation levies, or any industry related increases beyond our control.  Rates are also subject to currency fluctuation (example South Africa Itineraries (ZAR)/Indian Ocean Islands(EURO).  
    Passports, Visas and other entry requirements:  International travel requires a passport valid for 6 months beyond your intended return date.  In most cases, you will also need to have multiple blank visa pages within your passport (the number varies depending on your destination(s).  Many destinations also require that you obtain your visa prior to arrival.  If one parent or guardian plans to bring a minor child without the other parent or parents, some countries and airlines have strict documentation and permission requirements.  Birth certificates may be required for children under 18.  Some nations require proof of vaccinations for all travelers.  Please speak with us if you are unsure about visa requirements for your travel destination.  You are solely responsible for complying with passport, visa and other foreign entry-requirements and vaccinations.
    Itinerary modification/s:  Discover Africa reserves the right to substitute lodges, hotels, vessels or attractions for those listed in the tour description if same is required by circumstances beyond its control or for the convenience or well-being of clients.
    Adventure activities:   The operators of certain activities such as helicopter flights, jet boat excursions, white water rafting, bunji jumping, shark cage diving, kayaking trips, horseback riding, scuba diving etc./ may require you to sign a release and/or indemnity before allowing you to participate.   Whether a release and/or indemnity form is signed or not, we cannot be held responsible for any injury, death, loss or damage whatsoever arising from the participation in such activities or otherwise.  Benefits of insurance may not include injuries received when participation in some events as mentioned above. Please refer to your travel/cancellation policy for specific exclusions.  
    Game reserves and parks:  Will be entered at your own risk.  During visits to game reserves and parks, you will come in contact with wild animals that are potentially dangerous.  It is therefore standard procedure for game lodges and game drive operators to require you to sign an indemnity form upon arrival.  Whether a release and/or form is signed or not, we cannot be held responsible for any injury, death, loss or damage whatsoever arising from the participation in such activities or otherwise.  Although excellent sightings of wild animals are regular in the game reserve or park that you may be visiting, these sightings can in no way be guaranteed.
    Discover Africa:  Acts only as an agent for the various independent suppliers that provide hotel accommodations, transportation, sightseeing activities, or other services connected with this tour.  Such services are subject to the terms and conditions of those suppliers.  Discover Africa and their respective employees, agents, representatives, assigns and accepts no liability whatsoever for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay, or any other incident which may be caused by the negligence, defect, default of any company or person in performing these services including any financial failure o the third parties.  Responsibility is not accepted for losses, injury, damages or expenses of any kind due to sickness, weather, strikes, hostilities, wars, terrorist acts, epidemics, disaster, or strikes.
