Introduction

19 Apr 2026 - 30 Apr 2026

Fully immerse yourself into the Masaai culture!  You have seen the movies, and listened to the songs about how Africa has transformed lives.  It's true!  Our founder Darci Murray was recently there and said "it was like obtaining a degree in gratitude in 11 days!"  ABBY, the owner of Boutique Safari, and a personal friend to HOOKED, created a school with his wife Martha for at-risk kids in 2017.  Not only will you SAFARI, but you will actually participate at the school in their ongoing projects.  This is a trip of a lifetime!  Doing it sober with a group of like-minded people will change you forever!

TIPPING

Best to bring US cash in smaller bills - US cash is the currency for tourism in Tanzania. You won’t need much, if any local shillings. If you wish to change money, all hotels do it at the bank rate. They don’t gouge at all.

If you use a credit card at a lodge/camp (which you can), they add a surcharge to pay for their card fees. We usually pay in $US cash. Rarely is the bill more than $30 or $40 dollars as drinks are not expensive.

Bring $US 5s and 1s for tipping lodge staff (i.e. porters, house cleaning staff, waiters). Staff aren’t paid well and truly appreciate our tips. The going rate is $5 per room for house cleaning, $1 per bag for porters and $ 3-$5 for great service from dining staff.

For your safari guide and driver the minimum rate is $10 per person per day for the professional guide and $5 per person per day for the driver. ($30 per couple per day).
