The Aberdare National Park is a habitat for elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs and bushbucks, etc. There is the rare sighting of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat and the blue duiker. Bird viewing is highly rewarding with over 250 species of birds in the park such as sunbirds, eagles, Jackson's Francolin and plovers.
The scenery is stunning with waterfalls with the main one being Karuru.
Day 1
You leave Nairobi in the morning departing at 8.00 am, pass through coffee and pineapple plantations and the Kikuyu farm lands, to Nyeri arriving Aberdare Country Club in time for lunch.
After lunch drive into the Aberdare National Park to The Ark. Late afternoon and evening game watching as various animals come for a drink at the waterhole.
Day 2
After breakfast check out and return to Nairobi.
