Kenya Safari

Day 1:
Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met airside as you descend the aircraft steps by a dmAFRICA representative who will assist you with fast track immigration, baggage collection and customs formalities after which they will take you to your waiting charter flight on a Cessna 206 to Mara North Airstrip in the
Maasai Mara. This flight must take off by 15:30.

On arrival at Mara North Airstrip, you will be met by a waiting vehicle and drive from Mahali Mzuri which will transfer you to the lodge. On arrival, you can relax at the lodge, watching the animals in the valley below or head out on a game drive in the surrounding area.

Your overnight arrangements will be at Mahali Mzuri on a full board basis in a luxury tented suite.

Day 2:
Today you may decide that you wish to head out for a balloon safari, this will be an additional US$ 490 per person and is not included in the package price. If you decide to opt for the balloon safari, you will be picked up from Mahali Mzuri at 04:30-05:00 and driven to the launch site. You will be airborne just before dawn, as the flames from the burners light the darkness. What amazes first time balloonists on safari is the stillness; the silence as you float about the plains, forests and rivers of the Maasai Mara. The flight will take approximately 1 hour and you will have a lot of photograph opportunities! The balloon safari ends with a champagne breakfast, cooked wherever you land. You will then be driven back to Mahali Mzuri with game viewing en route.

You will depart Mahali Mzuri taking a picnic lunch with you as you head off to the Maasai Mara Reserve for a full day of game activities, in search of wildlife. Hopefully catching the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras, if you are lucky, you may get to witness them crossing the river!

In the afternoon you will return to Mahali Mzuri for your overnight arrangements on a full board basis.

Day 3:
After breakfast you will enjoy a guided bush walk, with a trained field guide. You may also visit the local markets, or venture out on another game drive in Mahali Mzuri’s open vehicles. In the afternoon, you are free to enjoy the lodge, perhaps making the most of the world class spa facilities (NOTE: Spa facilities are at an additional cost).

Your overnight arrangements will be at Mahali Mzuri on a full board basis.

Day 4:
In the morning you will be transferred to the Talek Gate with game viewing en route. Here you will board your waiting vehicle from Cottars 1920’s Camp that will transfer you to Cottars 1920’s Camp with a game drive en route. You will arrive in time for lunch, after which you can relax or head out for a game drive. In the late afternoon, you will be embarking on a night game drive, giving you the chance to witness the nocturnal activities of the animals that inhabit the region, hopefully seeing some of the species that are rarely seen during the daylight hours!

You will be staying overnight at Cottars 1920’s Camp in a luxury tent on a full board basis.

Day 5:
Today you will have an early morning game drive before breakfast, heading out in search of the early rising wildlife. Your driver will then stop and you will have breakfast in the bush! On return to Cottars 1920’s Camp you can indulge in a ½ hour massage (NOTE: This is complimentary for one person, per tent – must be booked in advance).

After lunch at Cottars 1920’s Camp, you will head out for an afternoon game drive, finishing up with sundowners at one of the many beautiful scenic spots in the Maasai Mara. You will return to Cottars 1920’s Camp for your overnight arrangements.

Day 6 & 7:
After an early breakfast, you will head out for a guided bush walk. When you return to Cottars 1920’s Camp, you can spend the rest of the day either on game drives, relaxing at the camp or enjoying cultural visits. Your overnight arrangements will be at Cottars 1920’s Camp.

Day 8:
After breakfast at Cottars 1920’s Camp, you will have an early morning game activity, before lunch at the camp. After this, a vehicle will transfer you to Cottars Airstrip, for your charter flight in a Cessna 206 to Nairobi; the flight departing at 14:00. Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be assisted with customs clearance & immigration before boarding your international flight home.
