Inspiring, authentic and holistic, the SkySafari engages every sense from beginning to end.
The SkySafari Tanzania fly-in trip has been designed to give you more of that most precious thing: time. Using our own fleet of small, smart planes, rather than regular scheduled flights, our SkySafari Tanzania means you’ll spend less time travelling between destinations. That’s more time for relaxing on your veranda overlooking the plains, picnicking out in the bush or watching the raw-in-tooth-and-claw spectacle of the bush.
You’ll be treated like a VIP from start to finish: we’ll drive you directly onto runways, whisk you away in our private planes (which seat only nine passengers); you’ll enjoy champagne and nibbles, a greater luggage allowance, more space to relax… Then, with no needless stops or changes, we’ll land you in the heart of the wilderness. And you’ll be able to rest easy, knowing all your SkySafari flight carbon emissions are being compensated for.
This ten-day trip combines the best of the untamed north, in style. Sleep amid abundant elephants of lesser-visited Tarangire. Drink in the sweeping Serengeti plains, where wild encounters never seem to end and finish in Ngorongoro, the colossal volcanic crater teeming with life,
Highlights include
- Arusha
- Tarangire National Park
- Serengeti National Park
- Ngorongoro Crater
Departures: Every other day year-round; contact Borton Overseas to verify start dates
Accommodations: The best safaris are those that put you right where the action is. Which is why we fly you between the Elewana Collection, a handful of unique camps and lodges that combine exquisite style with unrivalled locations and direct access to the wilderness.
In a private conservancy bordering the national park, Elewana Tarangire Treetops is like something from a fairytale, a scatter of suites teetering amongst the branches of the baobab trees. Elewana The Manor is possibly the most sumptuous stop on the safari circuit: its elegant Cape Dutch-styled cottages are perfectly placed for forays into the Ngorongoro Crater. In the Serengeti, we’ll take you to the best spot for the season: the handsome bygone-era tents of Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp, in the southern Serengeti, are wonderful when the wildebeest are calving and nearby Lake Magadi is flushed with a flamboyance of flamingoes; the sophisticated stilted suites of Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp are the place to watch the annual passing of two million ungulates.
And Arusha Coffee Lodge is a sweet-scented sanctuary. Its plantation-style houses are scattered across a working coffee farm and lush, tranquil gardens, and provide the perfect bookend to your safari.
Transportation: Elewana’s Safari Cruisers have been customized for comfort and optimized game viewing, and are fitted with bush-lunch awnings, 240v power supply to recharge your cameras and batteries, a cool box, and a drinks refrigerator, binoculars, and reference books on flora and fauna. Each vehicle is equipped with tables and chairs and a complete picnic hamper set up.
Internal Flights: Elewana’s Executive Cessna Grand Caravan 208B is the ideal luxury safari aircraft and now with the new Executive Oasis interior. Only 9 executive club-class seats (instead of 13), including a coffee and bar service.
Extensions: extend your time by adding more safari time in Tanzania or perhaps Kenya's Maasai Mara...or wash off the dust of safari with a few days of tropical splendor on Zanzibar - the perfect ending to this trip. Inquire with Borton about these and many more options.
Travel with a conscience: each of our SkySafari trips supports Land & Life, a foundation committed to a sustainable future for tourism. Land & Life aims to ensure that locals benefit from your visit and that Africa’s precious wildlife and habitats are protected for the next generation. Also, every property we use is focused on responsible tourism, from revenue-sharing projects that support local conservancies to the sponsorship of schools and clinics to well-managed recycling. All of the camps and lodges in Tanzania have undergone the rigorous verification process to receive eco-ratings from Responsible Tourism Tanzania.
