Summary:
Experience the wild diversity of Botswana, as you are taken from the desert to the delta on this seven-day safari. This trip is as wild as it is wonderful. Your journey begins at Meno a Kwena, a hidden gem perched on a rocky clifftop above the Boteti River on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, enjoy spectacular scenery, game watching and endless horizons.
From here you head out by helicopter to Mokolwane in the southern Okavango Delta. This is leopard country! Tucked away in 180 000-hectares of wilderness in the Xudum concession it boasts the third highest density recorded anywhere in Africa, making this small, relaxed camp, big on cat adventure.
This safari starts and ends in Maun in Botswana. One of the best times to visit the Makgadikgadi Pans is during the dry season, which runs from May to October. During this time, the pans are dried up and you can easily access them for activities like, game viewing, stargazing and witness the second largest migration of zebra and wildebeest in Africa (and it’s the last remaining one in Southern Africa).
Peak season for the Okavango Delta is between April and October. During these dry winter months, water from the Angolan highlands arrives and water levels in the Delta are high, offering the best conditions for mokoro activities and exceptional game viewing opportunities as wildlife is drawn to the water from the surrounding dry areas.
Highlights of this safari:
- Game Drives
- Mokoro Safaris (seasonal)
- Walking safari (San Bushmen guided walk)
- Cultural visit
- Helicopter Trips
- Migration

The safari adventure starts at Meno a Kwena, this relaxed camp overlooks the magnificent Makgadikgadi National Park. Meno a Kwena literally translates as “teeth of the crocodile” so keep an eye on the Boteti River below. From this lofty position you will spend the next three days and nights game-viewing straight from your private veranda, as the animals wander down to drink.
