Safari Itinerary

Days: 1-3

OKAVANGO DELTA

On arrival in Maun, Botswana the guests will be met by a representative to assist them with their connection on to a light charter flight (scheduled service) to Oddballs’ Camp. On arrival at the airstrip, guests will be met and transferred by motorboat to Camp.

The camp is accessed by light aircraft only and is a 20-minute flight from Maun or a 50-minute flight from Kasane. It is 15-30 minutes from most other camps in the area. 

Oddballs' Camp is situated on the edge of Chief's Island, deep in the heart of the Okavango Delta, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. On arrival, you are met at the airstrip by your personal guide and welcomed to the island. He remains your guide for the duration of your stay.

Oddballs’ offers no motorized activities. Each guide has his own mokoro (pl. mekoro), (the genuine wooden article, not the plastic replica), in which he’ll take guests gliding through the Okavango to nearby islands (water dependent), where he’ll walk guests through magnificent scenery to view game, birds, insects, medicinal plants, tracks, signs, droppings, and other fascinating natural phenomena.

KHWAI COMMUNITY

After breakfast, guests will be transferred to the airstrip in time for the scheduled transfer by light aircraft to Khwai where they will be hosted at Camp Khwai for the next 3 Nights.

The camp boasts six deluxe tents and a spacious two-room family tent, all positioned to provide breathtaking views of the surrounding wildlife and the area’s natural beauty.

The thatched main area serves as the central gathering place for guests, offering comfortable seating and dining areas to relax and indulge in delicious meals while enjoying the stunning views and wildlife sightings.

This camp offers an array of activities to ensure that a stay is unforgettable.

Enjoy thrilling game drives and walking safaris, where you can spot majestic wildlife in their natural habitat. For a more tranquil experience, explore the Khwai River on a mokoro trip and witness the peacefulness of the side channels.

The location provides easy access to the Moremi Game Reserve, where you can observe the Big Five and other incredible wildlife. Take a tour of the nearby village to learn about the local culture and customs or embark on an exciting night drive to see nocturnal animals in action.

CHOBE RIVER FRONT

After breakfast, guests will be transferred to the airstrip in time for the scheduled transfer by light aircraft to Kasane International Airport for the Chobe experience.

A place on the banks of the Chobe River, in Northern Botswana where tranquillity and beauty mix with raw wilderness. Here the immaculate Chobe bushbuck shares its sanctuary with warthog, mongoose, and abundant birdlife, whilst the hippo and crocodile hold domain over the riverine paradise.

This place is Kubu Lodge - a small privately owned and managed safari lodge. No radios, no television, no five-star prices. Just 'five-star' hospitality, amidst the splendour of a wild river with its spreading trees and birdsong for company.

Established in 1986, Kubu Lodge is proud to be the longest owner-managed establishment in the Chobe. This is not only a testament to the deep passion and dedication the owners have for the area, but also their decades long experience of knowing what matters to their guests, especially when it comes to flexibility.

With only eleven units, privacy and space are not compromised, whilst the spreading canopy of Flamboyant trees offers shade and colour to the garden atmosphere. Each chalet is fully en-suite with ceiling and standing fans, tea/coffee making facilities, charging facilities, safe, fridge and hair-dryer with shaver plug. With a variety of configurations, Kubu Lodge can accommodate doubles, twins, triples and has one family unit that sleeps four.

The guests will get to experience an unguided Victoria Falls Day Trip in Zimbabwe.

Day 9: End of Safari

After a final morning activity, guests will depart the camp for Kasane Airport where they will continue with onward travel arrangements.
