We begin on the Boteti River, just two hours from Maun, with an overnight stay at Moela Safari Lodge. The Boteti is one of Botswana’s most compelling stories. A river that ebbs between flood and drought, yet consistently draws extraordinary concentrations of wildlife to its banks. It is raw, visual and deeply atmospheric. Here, we also experience a meaningful cultural interaction with the San community, gaining insight into traditional knowledge and ways of life that remain closely tied to the land.

From there, we return to Maun and take to the skies by light aircraft, flying deep into the Okavango Delta. Over the following two nights, we stay at Mbamba and Duke’s Camp, two standout properties within a prime private concession. We end in Chobe, but not the version most itineraries rely on. This is the Chobe Forest Reserve, a quieter, more considered alternative around 40 minutes from Kasane.
