You can visit Costa Rica throughout the year, and we have organised this safari for those wishing to travel independently on dates to suit but whilst being looked after every step.
An incredible journey through less-travelled areas of the Southern Zone and Central Highlands of this small, beautiful and friendly country with its fabulously diverse, abundant wildlife. You will travel by road, boat and plane to explore cloud forests, valleys, jungles, mangroves, tropical beaches and stay in carefully chosen, comfortable lodges that keep you close to nature.
Costa Rica has the highest biodiversity of any nation of its size, and our itinerary focuses on exploring this extraordinary diversity, seeking out mammals, birds, reptiles, insects and marine life.
You can be as active as you wish: hiking, horse-riding, kayaking, snorkelling. Or as relaxed as you wish: bird-watching, strolling on nature trails, dipping into natural pools by waterfalls.
Highlights of the trip include:
- Seek out wildlife on the hiking trails of the virgin rainforests of the Piedras Blancas National Park
- Explore the tropical rainforest, wetlands, mangroves and coast of the southern Pacific Coast
- Travel by boat to the Osa Peninsula. Hike in the Corcovado National Park, where Central America's densest populations of tapir, jaguar and scarlet macaws reside
- Snorkel within a marine reserve to spot a wide variety of fish and marine mammals and kayak in the tranquil gulf waters of Golfo Dulce
- Take a nocturnal walk to find night-time creatures in their habitat
- Birdwatch in the hilltops and cloud forest of the Savegre Valley; one of the best sites in Costa Rica to see the famous Resplendent Quetzal
If you would like to stay a few days longer after the group trip, we have lots of ideas for extensions to your trip. Just give us a call to discuss
