Ethiopia Classical Journey

Day 1:
Upon your arrival into Addis Ababa International Airport, you will be met by a representative who will escort you to your waiting driver and vehicle for transfer to the Sheraton Addis Hotel, where you will be staying overnight on a room & breakfast basis.

Whilst in Addis Ababa you have no fixed schedule are have the days at your leisure to explore the city and its sites.

Day 2 & 3:
Your day will be at your own arrangement in Addis Ababa. Overnight, you shall be staying at the Sheraton Addis Hotel on a room & breakfast basis.

Day 4:
This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your domestic flight to Lalibela (NOTE: This flight is not included in the pricing, it is however listed as an optional extra). On arrival into Lalibela you will receive a tour of the rock hewn churches. The rock churches are cut into the rock and date from the 12th & 13th centuries. The blocks are chiselled out, forming doors, windows various floors and roofs. Many of the churches also have openings to hermit caves and catacombs! Biete Medhani Alem with its five aisles is believed to be the largest monolithic church in the world.

After your tour of these fascinating churches, you will be transferred to your overnight accommodation at the Mountain View Hotel on a full board basis.

Day 5:
After breakfast, you heat outside of Lalibela to visit the monasteries. The Asheten Mariam monastery is built on a ridge, boasting superb views of the countryside and stands at an altitude of 3150 metres. The Nakuto Le’Abe monastery is carved into the face of a cave, it features one of the most interesting collections of ancient crosses, manuscripts and other icons which are attributed to its founder Nakuto Le’Abe. In the afternoon, you’ll be returned to your overnight accommodation at the Mountain View Hotel on a full board basis.

Day 6:
Today, you will be transferred to the airstrip at Lalibela for the scheduled flight to Addis Ababa in the morning, where upon arrival you will be met by a waiting vehicle which will transfer you to the shores of Lake Langano; here you will be staying overnight on a full board basis at Bishangari Lodge.

Day 7:
This morning, you will head back to Addis Ababa after breakfast where you will be transferred to Addis Ababa International Airport for your onward international arrangements.
