SPAIN & PORTUGAL EXPLORATIONS

Here is an itinerary to some of my favorite spots in the magical country of Spain and the warm & hospitable area of Portugal - the Algarve.  We have including Wine & Tapas tours, Historic wineries, free time for exploring, and a relaxed 3 nights in most of our destinations to save daily packing & unpacking, leaving us more time to explore and enjoy!  Of course, we will still visit the highlights of the Spanish countryside such as:

*Toledo - one of the oldest and most unique cities of Spain.  It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 for its extensive monumental and cultural heritage.  As a bonus, this is an excellent wine region and we will visit one of the best vineyards in the region. 

*The iconic seaside town of Malaga - known for its stunning beaches, culture, and food.

*the magnificent Alhambra, a palace and fortress complex located in Granada.

*El Tajo Gorge is a scenic canyon (120 metres deep) that cuts through the heart of Ronda, Spain. It splits the town into La Ciudad, the Moorish-era old town, and El Mercadillo, the modern quarter.  Here we will have our 2nd Winery visit in a 16th century monastery which is a hidden gem in the heart of the Andalusian countryside.  

* Seville Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  After its completion in the early 16th century, Seville Cathedral supplanted Hagia Sophia as the largest cathedral in the world.

*Visit Córdoba - famous around the world for its Great Mosque & historic old town which is a World Heritage site.  Full of little streets to be explored, courtyards full of flowers, inviting squares and lively taverns where we can enjoy a good Flamenco performance!

*The charming area of Portugal's Algarve where we can visit small villages, charming fishing villages such as Fuzeta, and idyllic beaches.
