Introduction

TRIP FEE

$14,000 per hunter (Cape Buffalo) - 1x1 guide to hunter package

Rifles, Guns & Ammunition

The minimum caliber you can legally hunt Cape Buffalo with is a .375. We recommend bringing soft tipped rounds for the initial shot and solids for the close-in second shots. Please note that the standard gun license allows for 40 rounds of ammunition / rifle or gun. Should you require more, please let us know when you send your gun details to us - & we will attempt to arrange this. Make absolutely sure that your gun / rifle details are 100% correct. Licenses with incorrect serial numbers are subject to a fine or are held by the Police/Customs until your departure. A mistake that is often made is for example; between the number 5 & the letter S, so it might be preferable to type out your gun information on an email too. Should one of your rifles break during your hunt, there are spare rifles in camp.

What to Bring

Please remember laundry is done on a daily basis - except when you are in spike camping away from base camp, (which is seldom more than a night), so don’t over pack.

Military type cammo is not permitted in most African countries, but Realtree types are.

•1 pair run in hunting boots or running shoes

•1 pair swamp boots (Swamp hunting only). The canvas basketball boots that drain water are best, the Converse All Stars are best.

•4 pairs good socks

•3 pairs long hunting pants (Dark Khaki or Olive Green)

•3 pairs short hunting pants (if you hunt in short pants)

•3 hunting shirts (Dark Khaki or Olive Green)

•1 Realtree type Coverall - lightweight with zipper for swamp hunting.

•Mechanic Style Gloves for Swamps

•1 hunting jacket (Dark Khaki or Olive Green)

•Neck gaiter or bandanna

•1 warm sweater or jumper

•Binoculars w/ trap

•Lightweight rain gear

•Sun screen, Chapstick, cap or sun hat

•Flashlight

•Satellite Phone (optional)

•Leatherman Tool or Pocket Knife (packed in your checked bag)

•Sunglasses

•Skin So Soft by Avon (for Tsetse flies)

•A soft gun bag for each gun, as hard cases are often too bulky for the charter plane & are often left in Beira. These are also good to use on the vehicles. (You will have to bring your gun in a hard TSA approved case for you international flight and flight to Mozambique, but will be locked away in Beira until you return)

Electricity

Both camps in C11 are run off solar power with a back-up generator. The electricity is 220 Volt. There is charging points for camera’s and video recorders. Most modern day chargers accept 110 – 240 Volts. Please check that yours do or else you will need to bring an inverter from 220 Volts to 110 Volts. You will also need a pin plug that fits into the South African system. These are available at most airports.

Community Fees

The Community Fee of $50.00 USD per day per hunter that is levied in your bill is used for projects within our Coutada’s to assist the local community. To date we have rebuilt the school, supplied school books and stationary. Maintained water wells & have supplied a Maize Mill.

Diseases & Medication

Malaria is endemic in Mozambique. We suggest you check with your personal physician or The Center for Disease Control (800-311-3435 or WWW.CDC.GOV) regarding inoculation information for this area.
