Your 11-night tour (and 12 action packed days) of Kenya will take you to some of the most amazing places this country has to offer. It is an absolute hotspot for megafauna offering close encounters with wildlife that roam free and safe in their natural habitat; be guided by local experts in day and night game drives through private conservancies, National Parks and Reserves, learn ecology Maasai-style and see the Private Conservancy Model first hand. Visit the recipient schools of The Maarifa Foundation and interact with the children or get involved in a school improvement activity on offer. You will visit a local Maasai Village where you will see and hear about why they have agreed to lease their land for conservation and the benefits it brings to the local community.
This is an accompanied tour (excluding some optional add-ons), all inclusive (unless otherwise stated) of accommodation, transfers and internal flights, Park and Conservancy fees, meals, select drinks, activities and emergency evacuation insurance.
It does not include International flights, eTA, tipping, vaccinations, comprehensive travel insurance and anything else of a personal nature.

- Travel insurance documentation (note that you have Flying Doctors medical evacuation cover included as part of your package but you still need insurance to cover all other circumstances)
- 15kg luggage limit for internal flights (soft duffel bag – no hard-sided suitcases)
- Kenya has banned plastic bags – do not bring any plastic bags into Kenya, must leave on plane or discard at airport

Accompanied guided small group tour (9 guests) hosted by Gamewatchers Safaris and Porini Camps as the tour operator - one of the most well-respected and longest serving tour operator in Kenya (over 30 years). Your Group Leader is a The Maarifa Foundation Director who coordinates all aspects of the booking process, and day to day activities with the safari provider both before and while on tour. You are in good hands with a team taking care of everything from start to finish.
Your package includes:
* Nairobi transfers and internal flights to and between camps.
* Accomodation and full board at all camps including drinks and all meals. First night at Ole Sereni Hotel and last night at Eka Hotel in Nairobi is on b&b basis
* Shared day and night game drives in open sided safari vehicle, nature walks with Maasai warriors
* Authentic Maasai village visit
* Entrance to Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage
* Visits and activities at our Maarifa sponsored schools
* All park and conservancy fees and donation to school projects
A Safari with Purpose:
Your safari directly funds the community land leases that creates the conservancies we safari in - and this is paid to the local Maasai land owners. You are also helping to provide employment for rangers, camp staff, guides and drivers from the local community and importantly creating habitat and safe haven for wildlife.
Gamewatchers Safaris and Porini Camps are the leaders in responsible eco-tourism and the pioneers of the private community conservancy concept in Kenya which supports communities and wildlife conservation through its sustainable safari model. They are the delivery partner of The Maarifa Foundation contributing in-kind to our projects on the ground since 2020.
A per head donation is included in your package, which The Maarifa Foundation contributes directly (and 100%) to our sponsored schools (including for library, water tank, school fees, or other school improvement activity) - the project will vary from year to year based on needs of students and school community.
Other information:
15kg luggage limit (including hand luggage) in soft sided bags (eg duffel bag) for internal flights between camps
Tips and gratuities are not included - please allow $10 -$20 USD pp per day - tips are given to the guide and camp staff at the end of stay at each of the camps if you are happy with the service you have received. Your Group leader can provide further guidance as it can get a little overwhelming coming from a generally non-tipping country.
Excludes:
International flights and electronic Travel Authority, travel insurance , tips and gratuities, expenses of personal natures not mentioned in the itinerary.
Local currency can be obtained at Jomo-Kenyatta International Airport - JKIA (money exchange, or ATM)
Electronic Travel Authority (eTA ) must be obtained online within 60 days of travel.
