Madagascar should be called the Eighth Continent - not because it is the fourth largest island in the world, but because of the incredible biodiversity that it is blessed with. From mountains at 3,000m and rainforests teeming with animals, to the dry semi-desert with its bizarre octopus trees, there are surprises around every corner! An isolated part of the world for about 88 million years, this magical Indian Ocean island is teeming with species of plants and animals found nowhere else on earth. Come and see some of the 70+ species of lemur, 50% of the world’s chameleons, and one of the highest concentrations of endemic bird species in the world. It is incredibly scenic, with friendly Malagasy people and seas warm and teeming with coral reefs and fish.
We have designed the best possible expedition in Madagascar where you can feel the electricity of the air when it is pierced by the call of the Indri - the world's second loudest primate - or walk below towering “upside-down” baobab trees. We have hand selected hotels and lodges known for their location, hospitality, and comfort. This adventure is hosted by Denell Falk, CEO of Civilized Adventures, and guided by our experienced local guide Lalaina. Denell is excited to share her third trip to Madagascar with you - come be part of the adventure and join her in meeting the locals and learning more about the extraordinary wildlife, tribal culture, and traditions of this land. This trip is limited to 14 guests and is sure to be a popular fall adventure, so lock in your spot quickly!
About Your Trip Guide: Lalaina is a native Malagasy with a passion for the local birdlife.
