Introduction

This itinerary was created for two couples who wanted the very best out of their time and money in Africa with gorillas, big five safari top of the list. Here’s what they had to say upon their return:

"Our Rwandan trip to the gorillas was a highlight as you’d probably guess. We literally interacted with the family and spent a great deal of the time crouched down making submissive growls as the gorillas kept brushing past us. One baby even grabbed my jacket and wouldn’t let go until the guide pulled me free. It was all very thrilling. Magic tours were great as was our guide, Emmanuel. We thought Rwanda was the cleanest country we’ve ever visited and we loved everything about it. Rob managed the trip to the gorillas quite well although it did turn out the next day he had given himself an ear infection by screwing the special ear plugs in too far on the plane!

Kenya and Tanzania were both stunning. Your partners in Kenya/Tanzania were exceptional as were your guides, Seif in Kenya and Abdul in Tanzania. The accommodation was a lot better than we’d expected but it was a shame we didn’t have the time to appreciate it all. We were quite taken back with the invitation to have dinner with the owner of the company’s family and had a very enjoyable evening with the young ones. We gave them some feedback we thought might help them (slowing down the pace a little on the group tour component). We suggested an extra night in the Sopa Lodge at Serengeti as a rest day after arriving. The twelve hour trip over the very bumpy dirt road was very tiring and it was quite an effort getting up for a full day safari early the next morning. The trip itself was very picturesque but it would have been good to have a day to relax and enjoy the facilities at the lodge. We all agreed we’d have liked another night at Tarangire as well. We were all particularly fond of the two smaller lodges in Kenya at the beginning, Mbweha and Tipilikwani.

All in all it was a great experience and we look forward to recommending your company to our friends."
