If you only have a week in Malawi then splitting your time between Liwonde Game Reserve and Lake Malawi is the perfect way to spend it.
The Liwonde & Lake Malawi safari is an enchanting wildlife and beach holiday which is a great introduction to unspoiled Malawi. It could also be the basis for a longer stay (perhaps combining it with a fly-in safari to the Nyika Plateau). Or you could combine it with a few days on safari in Zambia.
We assume that you need the first night in Lilongwe but this may not be needed. You then stay at one of the best loved safari camps in Malawi, Mvuu Lodge in the Liwonde National Park. Next you travel by road north to Cape MacClear on the southern part of Lake Malawi. From here you are transferred by boat to Mumbo Island Camp for three magical nights of Robinson Cruscoe living – but with a great deal more comfort and style!
