6 Day Standard Wild Coast Tour

This six-day journey follows one of South Africa’s most characterful coastal corridors, travelling from KwaZulu-Natal’s dramatic Oribi Gorge into the forested river valleys, waterfalls and traditional communities of northern Pondoland, before continuing through Coffee Bay and along the southern Wild Coast to Morgan Bay. It is a route of big landscapes and small roads: green hills dropping towards the Indian Ocean, remote beaches, village life, Xhosa heritage and places closely associated with Nelson Mandela.

The experience is deliberately unhurried in spirit, although some transfer days are long. Guests should expect changing road conditions, limited mobile coverage, simple regional hospitality and occasional schedule adjustments. In return, the tour offers something increasingly rare: meaningful access to a less-commercialised part of South Africa, interpreted by a knowledgeable driver-guide and trusted local hosts.

This is best suited to curious, reasonably mobile travellers who value scenery, culture and authenticity over polished resort infrastructure. Comfortable footwear, a light rain jacket, sun protection, motion-sickness medication if required, and a flexible approach are strongly recommended.
