As in other countries, Argentina has a legendary route: Route 40. It is a road that begins in the far north, in the border between Argentina and Bolivia, and ends in the far south, south of El Calafate in the border with Chile. Route 40 rides from north to south along the imposing Andes Range, the backbone or the country. It passes along big cities and along small villages. It traverses dry deserts and beautiful forested valleys. It links original cultures with immigrant settlements. This route is one or Argentina´s pride.
This trip is designed for you to explore the highlights of the Andes along route 40. Stops are: Salta and surroundings, with it’s original culture and strange landscapes like the Salt Flats in the Puna. Mendoza and it´s world class wine region. Bariloche and the beautiful Patagonian lakes district. El Chalten, one of the best spots for hiking. El Calafate, head of the glaciers district and home to the Perito Moreno Glacier. Torres del Paine National Park in Chile, one of the most wonderful south American national parks. And finally Ushuaia, the city if the end of the world. Not all the itinerary will be along the route 40 because in some places it turns into a gravel road and buses don´t have access, but the spirit remains the same. An amazing trip for people looking for a lifetime adventure!
