This safari begins in Arusha in November 2023
Welcome to the 2023 running of our very successful set date safari to Tanzania.
This is a highly personalised and very informal safari which aims to enjoy the wildlife experience as much as possible with lots of game drives and on (optional) walking safaris. Using the best camps for the areas we visit and taking advantage of excellent local guides, you will experience Tanzania at ground level. We will bring the whole safari to life with Tony McKeith's assistance and our own Tanzanian escorting driver/guide.
For the past 20 years, the Namiri Plains in Tanzania's Eastern Serengeti was only accessible to a handful of researchers studying big cats. Today it has opened up for limited tourism and offers East Africa's best and least crowded game viewing. Inspired by the prospect of visiting the Namiri, we have created a safari that will take us to Tarangire and the Ngorongoro en route to reaching the Namiri Plains.
I have planned this exciting safari for November, the time of the short rains; a dramatic and great time to be on safari. Yes, we may get rained on, but it's equally possible we won't see a drop.
The safari aims to see some of the iconic sights of Northern Tanzania and hopefully encounter the migrating herds of Wildebeest and Zebra as they move south to the Southern Plains and their birthing grounds, attracting the attention of the predators that the Namiri is known for. As with any of our safaris, we will try to see as many different species of animals and birds as possible and take our time to enjoy each moment.
We will use a private, purpose-built safari vehicle and benefit from our own very experienced driver/guide whose knowledge spans everything we will encounter on safari - the wildlife, flora and fauna, the birdlife, the people and the local culture; a wealth of information at all times.
Tony will work with the resident guides in each camp to help us get the best possible sightings.
