This itinerary was created for a couple seeking an authentic safari experience in Kenya and Tanzania. Here’s what they had to say upon their return:
"Just making it to Africa was the first highlight. Loved the first day before the safari started, visiting Daphne Sheldrick Elephant orphanage, Giraffe Centre and Karen Blixen Museum. Our Tanzanian guide Karume was amazing. From when we met him at the Tanzanian border, he was dressed in uniform, vehicle was immaculate with access to wifi if we wanted plus powered fridge to keep drinks cold. He was bright and happy and went out of his way to make the trip memorable. Hopefully this will go on his file and he is made aware how grateful we were for all his efforts.
Each of the parks had something special to offer. We saw so many animals and birds. Although we didn’t see any kills, we were lucky to see a lion stalking a warthog and narrowly escape being 'dinner'. We saw a leopard in a tree with a kill, and three lions with a wildebeest- it was amazing watching the lioness drag this huge beast a number of metres before giving up and starting to feast on the kill.
We also had the chance to see hyenas eating a kill in the grass, and an eagle eating a snake in the middle of the road and then flying off with it when we got to close. I thought we were not going to be able to see any mass herds of wildebeests and zebras as we there too early but in the Serengeti we got to see them while we were having breakfast after our ballon flight and again the next day while we were stopped having lunch.
From the time we stepped off the plane everything went like clockwork - well done team Australia and Africa! We are referring you to everybody."
