Introduction

The world-famous Laikipia plateau in Kenya has rich grasslands, basalt hills and dense forests that support the greatest diversity of wildlife in this part of the continent.

Mutara Camp is the only accommodation in the 20,000-acre Mutara Conservancy, with just 15 tents. It borders the famous Ol Pejeta Conservancy and guests have unlimited access to this wilderness property. Together, these properties comprise the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa.

The luxury, tailor-made canvas tents boast top-class interior furnishings and en-suite bathrooms; it is very easy to forget you are in a tent! The entire front side can be folded open, allowing light to pour into the room and the afternoon breeze to float through.

Each tent has a deluxe king-sized bed and a cozy reading area. With a fully stocked mini-bar, guests can enjoy sundowners on their own private deck, looking out onto endless Africa, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the bush.

On-site activities include day and night game drives, visits to the chimpanzee sanctuary and endangered northern white rhinos, as well as bush dinners and sundowner experiences.
