This immersive course is specifically designed for veterinary students and provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to wildlife veterinary practices in South Africa.
Throughout the program, delegates will develop both technical knowledge and practical skills related to the immobilisation, treatment, and conservation of wildlife. The course includes a balanced combination of theoretical instruction and field-based practical sessions, ensuring a rich and comprehensive learning experience.
Participants will gain insight into the challenges faced by wildlife veterinarians and conservation professionals in Southern Africa — many of which have global relevance. The foundational knowledge and skills acquired during the course will be applicable to wildlife work worldwide, including in captive wildlife facilities.
The course is open to veterinary students from any year and any accredited veterinary school globally. All sessions are conducted in English.
In addition to the academic and practical components, the program includes leisure activities and wildlife viewing opportunities, offering students a complete and memorable African bush experience.
