This South African Art Safari, led by Yvonne Ankerman, takes you through some of the country’s most breathtaking landscapes,  from the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate to the legendary Kruger National Park and the tranquil wilderness of the Timbavati Game Reserve. Each location offers a new palette of colour, light, and movement, inviting you to paint, sketch, and connect deeply with nature.

Yvonne is an experienced artist and tutor with a passion for plein air watercolour painting. Her teaching style is encouraging and insightful, helping you to see with an artist’s eye and to capture the spirit of the bush with freedom and confidence. Whether you are a seasoned painter or a complete beginner, Yvonne will guide you through techniques in watercolour, composition, and expressive mark-making, all while surrounded by Africa’s extraordinary wildlife and landscapes.

Daily excursions, game drives, and quiet painting sessions in the bush allow for a balance between creative focus and safari adventure. As the sun sets each evening, we gather for sundowner drinks to share sketches, exchange ideas, and reflect on the day’s discoveries under the vast African sky.

Your safari guides are local experts with deep knowledge of the region’s wildlife and ecology. Working side-by-side with Yvonne, they will help you understand the rhythms of the bush and position you perfectly for painting, sketching, and observing wildlife in its natural habitat.
