The Akwasidae Festival marks a grand event for the Asante (Ashanti) people at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, the royal home of the Asante King. The vibrant occasion includes celebrations, pledges of allegiance, food offerings and is deeply rooted in ancestral tradition. It happens about every 6 weeks.
