Introduction

Japan Journey - 14 nights

This Japan Journey Holiday is a great way to see the best of Japan in a short space of time and includes Flights, Transfers, Japan Rail Passes and Accommodation and is a partly-guided trip. It's a tailor made private tour which can be adjusted to suit you, as you wish.

You will find details of the itinerary contained within this link. You can navigate between the elements to view the day-by-day itinerary, the accommodation and the flights and other transport information.

Begin in Tokyo with two full days to discover this captivating city. You will be met on arrival at the airport and transferred to your hotel by private car, making your arrival in Japan very easy. A full day tour is included in Tokyo. You will have an English-speaking professional guide with you to make sure you see the essential sights and to help you get your bearings in Tokyo.

From Tokyo head to Hakone by Romance Car train, armed with a Hakone Free Pass to explore this scenic area of Japan in the shadow of Mount Fuji. Travel by cable-car, walk some trails, soak in a n Onsen (hot spring bath) and discover something of Japan outside the main cities. In Hakone we have included accommodation in a Ryokan, with a traditional kaiseki dinner included.

From Hakone head to the Japanese Alps and the charming town of Takayama where you have 2 nights and a half-day walking tour included. Slip back in time as you stroll along the stone-cobbled streets of the Sanmachi Suji district, visit the riverside Miyagawa morning market, or explore the shrines that dot the surrounding hills.

From the Alps, head to the coastal town of Kanazawa, often called 'Little Kyoto'. A half-day tour in Kanazawa is included, to discover the best of this old Samurai town which has one of the finest Japanese Gardens in the country and a castle being restored to its former glory.

From Kanazawa catch the famous Shinkansen Bullet Train to Hiroshima where you can visit the Peace Memorial Park and Miyajima Island.

Finish your Japan journey in Kyoto, the cultural capital of Japan and home to many of Japan's most iconic sights. Enjoy plenty of time to explore independently. You have a Full Day tour included in Kyoto as well as an evening walking tour of Gion, the Geisha district.

Japan isn't the easiest of destinations to organise a trip independently, so this itinerary is designed to have everything in place for you and give you some useful advice and assistance so you can sit back and start to look forward to your Japan experience.

Please bear in mind that all of our holidays are tailor made and can be adjusted to suit your interests, time, hotel & airline choice and be tailored to fit your budget.
