  • Note:  Easy way to communicate with family back home besides email is to use Whatsapp. WhatsApp is free to download messenger app for smartphones. WhatsApp uses the internet to send messages, images, audio or video.                  

PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS

  • Passport required to enter Kenya
  • Passport to be valid for 6 months after date of departure from Kenya
  • Require two blank pages in the passport

VISA REQUIREMENTS KENYA

  • US Citizens require a visa online or on entry to Kenya.
  • Obtainable online: http://evisa.go.ke  and/or ports of entry and paid in US dollar bills
  • On opening the evisa page and before going on to any tabs on the page, you need to “Sign in :  a small box at the top right hand corner saying : Create an Account”.
  • Four boxes come up and you need to click on the eVisa Visitors box (click on create an account) and follow the prompts to make the application
  • For all online visa applications: once approved, a visa approval letter will be emailed to the applicant and this letter must be printed out and presented on arrival. Please note: Once approval has been received, the evisa will be made available on your evisa account. Login in to your secure evisa account (which is created when applying for the visa) and print a copy of the evisa to carry with the passport. On arrival in Kenya present the printed eVisa (which has the bar code) and passport to the Immigration Officer.
  • Single entry: US $ 50
  • Please note: A traveler to Kenya, departing Kenya into Tanzania and returning to Kenya can re-enter Kenya a second time without the need to obtain another single entry visa.

HEALTH PRECAUTIONS

  • Malaria is prevalent in some of the areas to be visited. Please consult your physician for suitable anti-malaria medication
  • No Yellow Fever certification is required for travellers arriving in Kenya directly from the US and only applies to travellers arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever.

  • 11:00hrs: Picnic lunch in National Park
  • 12:30hrs: Transfer to Wilson Airport
  • 12:30hrs: Father Henry teachers and students return to the school
  • 13:45hrs: Check in at Air Kenya Counter
  • 14:45hrs: Depart scheduled flight to Masai Mara National Reserve
  • 15:45hrs: Arrive Ol Kiombo Airstrip and transfer to camp
  • Overnight: Mara Ngenche Safari Camp

Friday, September 27th 2019

  • 05:15hrs: Early morning wake up call
  • 05:30hrs: Transfer to Hot Air Balloon launch site
  • 06:30hrs: Hot Air Balloon departure
  • 07:30hrs: Hot Air Balloon lands at selected site
  • Breakfast  in the savannah and return to camp
  • 13:30hrs: Lunch at camp
  • 16:00hrs: Afternoon game drive and sundowners
  • Overnight: Mara Ngenche Safari Camp

TIPPING GUIDELINE: KENYA

NOTE: Tips have been included in the tour cost but  you may include additional tips at your discretion based on personal satisfaction

  • Porters US$ 1 per person per day.
  • Waiters US$ 2 per person per day
  • Driver guide US$ 10 per person per day
  • Normally the guide/ranger is tipped separately in order to show your appreciation and the guide/ranger tip can be made at the end of your stay in each location.
  • At many camps there will be a tipping box at checkout or you can give to the manager to share with Camp staff.

BAGGAGE RESTRICTIONS

  • Kenya: Soft duffel-type luggage allowance on internal light aircraft flights is 15kg per person (including hand luggage)
  • IMPORTANT:

    Please note that the use and importation of plastic bags is illegal in Kenya.  The ban took effect on 28th August 2017 and is part of an effort to preserve the environment by switching to alternative reusable and eco-friendly packaging materials. Please ensure that you do not have plastic bags, including duty free bags, in both your hand luggage and your main luggage.
