10-night small group journey to explore the southern part of beautiful Malawi.
During our safari, we will travel by road, starting in Blantyre and finishing in Lilongwe, visiting the two premier parks in Malawi where we will discover their incredible conservation success stories.
The highlights of our trip:
- Majete Wildlife Reserve. Less than 20 years ago it was nearly devoid of wildlife, but now it is one of Malawi’s Big Five parks with thriving animal populations and plentiful birdlife. It is truly off-the-beaten-track; a completely unspoilt wilderness destination offering a sense of total serenity, far away from the tourist crowds.
- Malawi has some great birding destinations and we will take time in between visiting the parks to stay in a private cottage in the rolling tea estates of Thyolo, where we can spend time hiking and birdwatching.
- Liwonde National Park has been the host of incredible wildlife translocations and reintroductions, and transformations, which has seen predators, including lions and cheetah, restored to the park for the first time in two decades.
