Explore Australia’s remote Kimberley and exciting Top End on this 10 day/9 night safari staying at three exclusive lodges.
Departing from Darwin by light aircraft, fly south-west to remote Faraway Bay Lodge on Western Australia’s Kimberley coastline. This small eco-lodge has just 8 comfortable cabins situated on top of a cliff, nestled amid native bushland overlooking the bay. Guests can enjoy a plethora of exciting activities exploring this beautiful area including indigenous rock art tours, remarkable King George Falls and excursions to secret waterfalls and freshwater swimming holes.
Next fly to Bullo River Station – a working cattle station and homestead in the Northern Territory that offers a truly authentic outback Australian experience. The 12 guestrooms have been inspired by the landscape and open out onto the property’s main lawn, providing a cosy sanctuary after a busy day exploring the station. The homestead itself has a lovely communal area with comfortable couches, hammocks and a large open-air swimming pool with sun lounges – ideal for relaxing after a day’s activities or joining fellow travellers for a sunset drink. Guided excursions on foot, horseback, 4WD or boat explore the vast 2,000 km² station, home to some of Australia’s most iconic wildlife, over 180 bird species as well as the rare pygmy crocodile. Also included is one short, scenic helicopter flight over the station, giving you a birds-eye view of this incredible landscape.
Finally cap off your outback adventure at Bamurru Plains – a Luxury Lodges of Australia member – located on the Mary River floodplains on the edge of Kakadu National Park. The lodge has exclusive access to 300 km² of floodplains and savanna woodland home to a profusion of native birds and wildlife. A bird lover’s dream, wildlife-based activities abound – the lodge has a hide, 6-metre high platform with 360-degree views over the floodplains and open-top 4WD vehicle safaris. An unquestioned highlight is the thrilling air boat safaris, zipping across the expansive floodplains.
